About Us

Help the Strays Group St. Anthony and Area

We are a group of concerned citizens and animal lovers in the St. Anthony area on the Northern Peninsula in Newfoundland who would like to improve the lives of pets and strays.

Our goal is to have as many stray cats and dogs spayed or neutered as possible. Our project is called “Spay/Neuter Action St. Anthony and Area”.

But we do not have a shelter (that might be an option in the distant future when we will hopefully have regular veterinary services in St. Anthony and other places on the Northern Peninsula).

We would like to convince people to spay or neuter their pets in order to change the fate of stray or feral cats and to prevent unwanted pets from being born.

We think education about the pets` needs, especially in schools, is key to the prevention of cruelty to animals.

There are too many stray cats and dogs in Newfoundland. We have to take responsibility for the animals that we take into our homes and families.

We would like to connect animals lovers and advocates with each other, exchange ideas and enable initiatives.
