Gina and Seth have two dogs, Luna and Beamer. Luna is six and Beamer is three. They have had Luna for six years and Beamer for two years.

Gina writes: “Luna is female and Beamer is male. They are Plott Hounds, the state dog of North Carolina, which was developed in the mountains of western North Carolina. They are big game hunting dogs (bears, wild boars, etc.) but we got ours from shelters and we do not hunt with them.”

“The Six Golden Questions”:

– What do your dogs like?

They love walking and running in the woods.  Luna loves playing with other dogs and being around people. Beamer is more introverted.  He will play for a while with other dogs, but likes to get out of the action from time to time and just watch.

– What do your dogs not like?

Luna does not like to see her reflection in her food bowl!  It is funny! Beamer does not like scooters, bicycles or trucks that are really loud.

– Favourite toys?

Sticks.  However, they are not fetchers.  They would rather take the stick or ball and chew on it, but not bring it back.

– Favourite food?

Cheese is a treat.  They can be upstairs, but as soon as they hear a cheese wrapper, they come flying!  They also love hamburger meat, which we give like a cake for their birthdays, or any other special day!  We also give them carrot and apple, which they love.

 – What have you learned since you have had your dogs?

That I wasn’t exercising enough before I got them! Ha!

 – Do you have any advice for other pet owners?

Love your pets! They are the best.  Treat them with respect and care for them like children.  They are part of your family, part of the pack!  If you can’t do that, then don’t have a pet.
